Have you ever considered serving in local government?
Our community needs citizens who are willing to volunteer their time to public service. By participating in the process citizens have the opportunity to effect positive changes in society and government. Civic engagement is critical to the health of our democracy.
There are many routes to serving our community, from volunteering with charitable or service organizations, to sitting on a commission or committee, to running for office. Every volunteer, appointee or elected official has an impact on Ridgefield — in modest ways as well as major ones. The time commitment varies but the rewards are consistent … your ideas, your talents and your heart will contribute to the future of our schools, our seniors, our environment, our social fabric and our town.
The municipal elections of 2015 will determine the composition of many boards and commissions. There are many opportunities and many ways to get involved.
The Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee wants to talk to registered Democrats interested in serving in appointed or elected roles, as well as those who are not sure but who are looking for information. Check us out at ridgefielddems.org or on Facebook facebook.com/RidgefieldDTC.
We want to hear from you. We can provide a chance for interested citizens to learn more about currently serving Democrats, the positions coming before the voters as well as key issues and opportunities in 2015 and beyond. If you are curious about town boards and commissions, or have ever wondered what it would be like to volunteer, serve in office, or campaign, we can help you get started. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Provide some background about yourself and your interests, as well as your address and phone numbers. Interested parties can also mail information to us at: Ridgefield Democratic Town Committee, PO Box 1212, Ridgefield, CT 06877-1212, or call and leave a voice message at (203) 403-7080.
