Ridgefield’s State Representative, Aimee Berger-Girvalo, Announces Her Re-Election Campaign and Qualifies for Citizens Election Program in Under 15 Hours After Announcement
On Monday, January 31, 2022, at 6:30 am, State Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo announced her plans to run for re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives, serving Ridgefield’s 111th district. Support for her re-election amongst Ridgefield voters was swift and resounding. Before 9:30 pm the same day, under 15 hours later, Aimee qualified for the Citizens Election Program, a voluntary program which provides clean elections financing to candidates for statewide office, by raising $5,800 from 150 voters in Ridgefield in amounts of $5-$290, an unprecedented success.
“I am grateful for the support of my fellow residents of Ridgefield, the town I love. Entering the Connecticut General Assembly 12 months ago amidst a global pandemic, I was privileged to serve and deliver concrete action that eased hardships for Ridgefielders while also advancing critical local and statewide initiatives to achieve immediate and long-term goals. If re-elected, I will continue to work hard to drive the kind of legislation that fortifies fiscal and economic security, and that safeguards and benefits women, children, and families.
“I am proud that my first session’s work resulted in securing $2 million dollars for the Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield, the passage of legislation requiring defibrillators in gyms at the request of a Ridgefield constituent, as well as other legislative initiatives which benefit town and state.
“But there is more to be done. That’s why I am seeking re-election this November and announcing my campaign begins today. I would be grateful to have your support”.
